Students: Any parking spot that has been painted is a reserved spot. Please do not park in someone else’s reserved spot.

 

Community Service Hours:  PHS Football Boosters needs help in the concession stand at JV home games.  Please see Mrs. Sharp in Guidance to sign up to help.

 

Picture update: September 27th; during lunches; underclassmen makeup, faculty/staff makeup, senior portrait makeups in the Panther Den. Also, any seniors can give it a final try on September 27th. Yearbook staff can't guarantee those portraits taken after the last and final makeup date will make it in the yearbook, but we can try.

 

Do you watch anime or are interested in anime culture? If so, join anime club. Anime club meets every Wednesday after school in Ms. Bechanan’s room down the art hallway. If you want to join this club stop by the library and grab an application form and after it’s filled out with parent signature, bring it to Ms. Bechanan in her room.

 

Students who have volunteered for a special project in our community are eligible to apply for the Prudential Spirit of the Community Award. If you are someone who wants to make a difference in our community and has taken some action in order to do just that then this award is for you! The guidance department has all the details on how to apply for this award and Mr. Stout will choose the PHS winner for the award. All the other students who applied will also be honored for their efforts in our community and school so swing by guidance to pick up an information flyer. The deadline to apply is approaching so don't delay.

Att girls: If you are interested in playing soccer for Palatka High School this year please attend a meeting on Monday, September 25th in the Panther Den at 3:50. Please get a physical form in the front office before the meeting.

Due to testing, the TABE test will be rescheduled for Tuesday, OCT 24. If you have any questions please contact Ms Cauble.

National Honor Society and Beta Club applications due date has been
extended to
MONDAY, September 25th, please make sure your
recommendation letters and applications are completed and turned in no
later than
4:00 p.m. on 9/25.

 

Students - The ASVAB test will be given on November 8.  Seats are limited to the first 50 students to sign up.  Only 10th, 11th and 12th grade students may sign-up.  If you are interested in taking the ASVAB, you must sign-up in Guidance.  If you have questions, please see your guidance counselor.

 

All boys planning to play basketball at PHS, I need your physical forms back, conditioning is starting soon and you can’t participate without them. Also today, I need to see all progress reports for 9th graders that signed up for basketball this year.

 

Att Girls: On September 25th, there will be a meeting for all girls interested in being on the 2018 Girls Weightlifting Team. The meeting will be in Coach Polite’s classroom starting at 4 PM.

 

The scheduled ACT for September 9 that was cancelled has been rescheduled for September 30.  If you were registered for the September 9 test date, you should receive an email from ACT regarding the test date change. Please remember to bring your ticket and your ID.

 

Palatka High School and Georgia Pacific will host the F.I.R.S.T.  (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) robotics club for students interested in designing, building and competing against other high schools.  Meetings will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. All interested students should meet in building 26, room 018.   Contact Mr. Garison in room 705 for more information.

 

Attention ALL Student Council Members, there is a MANDATORY meeting on Monday, 9/25 at 8:30 am in Mrs. McNeill's room!! If you have not yet turned in your fundraiser forms, make sure you bring them to the meeting.  Please stop by Mrs. McNeill's class today for your pass!! 

 

Teachers, please make sure that you turn in your homecoming nominations for all classes to Mrs. McNeill today by 4:00 pm. 

 

Attention Students and Staff, the Powder Puff Game will be help on Friday, Oct 6th at 7:00 pm.  Sign-ups will be held next week during lunch. 

 

Algebra I End of Course Exam retakes begin on Monday. The testing rosters will be posted on the bulletin board outside of guidance before lunch today. If you believe you should be taking the test and do not see your name, please see your guidance counselor or Mr. Chaires ASAP.
