Do you watch anime or are interested in anime culture? If so, join anime club. Anime club meets every Wednesday after school in Ms. Bechanan’s room down the art hallway. If you want to join this club stop by the library and grab an application form and after it’s filled out with parent signature, bring it to Ms. Bechanan in her room.


Students who have volunteered for a special project in our community are eligible to apply for the Prudential Spirit of the Community Award. If you are someone who wants to make a difference in our community and has taken some action in order to do just that then this award is for you! The guidance department has all the details on how to apply for this award and Mr. Stout will choose the PHS winner for the award. All the other students who applied will also be honored for their efforts in our community and school so swing by guidance to pick up an information flyer. The deadline to apply is October 13th.


Due to testing, the TABE test will be rescheduled for Tuesday, OCT 24. If you have any questions please contact Ms Cauble.


Students - The ASVAB test will be given on November 8.  Seats are limited to the first 50 students to sign up.  Only 10th, 11th and 12th grade students may sign-up.  If you are interested in taking the ASVAB, you must sign-up in Guidance.  If you have questions, please see your guidance counselor.


Palatka High School and Georgia Pacific will host the F.I.R.S.T.  (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) robotics club for students interested in designing, building and competing against other high schools.  Meetings will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. All interested students should meet in building 26, room 018.   Contact Mr. Garison in room 705 for more information.


Homecoming (here we go......)

Homecoming Dance will be held on Friday, October 20 after the football game.  The tentative start time will be 10 pm and will last until 12 am.  Price will be $10 per ticket.  The theme will be "HOCO AfterGlow" 

It is a Glow Party Theme, so come straight from the game and enjoy some dancing and beats by DJ Polite!! Student council will be providing the Glow Gear!

Att Seniors: The panoramic picture will be taken on Monday, October 23rd in the gym at 9:15. We will release you after the announcements that morning. Please make every effort to be there for your senior class picture.

VyStar has begun their refer a friend and new member promotion! Members who refer a friend to VyStar will both receive free Chick-Fil-A sandwiches. Offer ends October 26th!!!!

There will be an Anchor club meeting today October 12. ALL Anchor members are to be there! If you choose not to attend, you will not be allowed to participate at the EH Miller Fall festival!

Freshman Class will have skit practice in the Dean’s office from 4-5:30pm today. Please make sure you have transportation home after practice.

*Homecoming is next week and our theme is Rest in Peace Raiders.  We will be having our annual door decorating contest! Teachers, more information to follow regarding the door decorating contest!!

Girls Soccer Tryouts will start Monday, October 16th at 5pm at the High school.  You will need to bring paperwork in order to tryout. 

Girls Basketball conditioning starts Monday, October 16th at 5:45 in PHS Gym.

There will be a Sophomore Class meeting today in the Panther Den immediately after school.

PHS will be starting a Panther pantry. Anyone interested can sign up in the Guidance Office. If you have any questions about the pantry Ms. Trembly will be glad to explain.

If you are interested in trying out for Basketball Cheerleading there will be a mandatory meeting, Thursday, October 26th right after school in the Panther Den. Tryouts will be November 2nd.

Friday is Pink Out day. Where your pink attire.

REMINDER-The FAFSA OPEN LAB is TONIGHT at Palatka High in Room #126 starting at 6pm. If you or your parent is needing assistance to submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Student Financial Aid), please plan to come TONIGHT for free assistance. We will have representatives from SJR State College on hand to help with the FAFSA process. Please bring with you your tax documents from last year. These will be needed to complete the FAFSA.



SENIORS-Please mark your calendars for these up coming events:

Tuesday, Oct. 24th starting at 6pm-St. Johns River State College will also be hosting the ***LAST*** FAFSA Open Lab on their campus to assist anyone in completing the FAFSA application. If your FAFSA is not completed by Tuesday, Oct. 24th, this will be your last opportunity to get help with the application and submission so make plans to attend!

Wednesday, Oct. 25th-St. Johns River State College will be at Palatka High School with ***FREE*** applications to attend SJRSC. You must have your FAFSA completed. The FL. Residency Forms are in the main guidance office for any student planning to attend SJR State next year. They will be here during the school day starting at 9am. Make sure you do not miss out on FREE APPLICATION DAY! J


There will be a senior class meeting for anyone interested in participating in homecoming activities and planning the panoramic picture Friday the 13th immediately after school in Mrs. Clark's room.

We are having our last informational meeting for the Ireland Spring Break trip, Tuesday, October 17th in Mr. Shryock’s classroom at 6pm. This is your last chance to join this amazing opportunity.

There will be a High Q competition today in Room #127 at 4pm.

Dance Team will have practice today in the commons at 4:15pm.

Junior Class will be sponsoring tailgate party tomorrow at CL Overturf softball field at 6pm with soft drinks, snacks, games and music.

Key Club members are reminded to pick up and turn in the donut forms
by Oct 17th from Mrs. Baird.  Be sure you get the details from
Tuesday's meeting.  New members are still be welcomed. Applications
must be turned in and dues must be paid by November 3rd.

NHS Induction will be October 26th at 6 p.m. Business Casual Attire.
